Event Description

Estate planning is one of the most important acts of care you can plan for your loved ones. Yet many delay it because it feels overwhelming or complex. In this 60-minute interactive workshop, attorney LD Thomas will guide you through the core elements of estate planning and show you how to use the AARP Lesson Book and Record Book as tools to organize your life, clarify your wishes, and set your legacy in motion.

You’ll walk away with:

• A clear understanding of the key estate planning documents (wills, trusts, powers of attorney, directives)
• A roadmap for gathering and organizing your personal, legal, and financial information
• A personalized action plan so you can take concrete steps right away

Whether you’re just getting started or already have some planning in place, this workshop adds structure, professional insights, and accountability to get it done.

Pre-Assignment (To Prepare for the Workshop)

To help us make the most of our live time together, we ask participants to complete a short pre-assignment:

1. Download and review the AARP Estate Planning Lesson Book
   
2. Download the AARP Estate Planning Record Book:
3. Spend 20–30 minutes doing the following:
   • Skim through the first chapters of the Lesson Book to familiarize yourself with the concepts
   • Begin filling out the “Personal Information” and “Key Contacts” sections in the Record Book
   • Bring your partially completed Record Book and questions to the workshop

By doing this ahead of time, you’ll be ready to jump into the interactive portion of the session, enabling us to focus on your unique planning needs and maximize value.
